About

Denise Carter has been teaching at the Hudson Valley Conservatory since its inception in 1994.  She has over 20 years of teaching experience, not only at HVC, but also several studios throughout Orange County, NY.

Denise’s earlier work included traveling across the country while performing as a dancer in Sebastian’s Party Gras and Kids Jam USA.  She has also performed with The Society of American Magicians as a magician’s assistant and dancer.

Denise has been dancing since the age of 3 and while she is trained in ballet and jazz, she specializes in teaching her first love – tap.  She also specializes in teaching our youngest dancers in our pre-kinder and kinder programs.  She has studied and trained through the Leap ‘n Learn Early Childhood Dance Program.  She is also a certified Rhythm Works Integrative Dance Instructor - www.rhythmworksid.com -  a clinically based dance program that customizes classes for students with special needs and individual learning differences.

Denise is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary College with a BA in Business.  She has also been the choreographer for the Bishop Dunn Memorial School musical productions since 2014.
